LJK Tutoring is run by me, Lucy Killgren, an experienced English teacher, examiner and member of The Tutors Association (TTA).
My teaching experience comes from a variety of different settings including grammar, mainstream and special needs schools. I have also spent several years working as a tutor preparing students for entrance exams for schools such as Westminster, Benenden and Harrow.
I draw on my experience to find the right learning plan for each individual and believe in personalised support to help students excel. I aim to create a positive and nurturing learning environment where students can thrive and grow. With a focus on individualised attention, I tailor my teaching methods to suit each student's unique learning style. My goal is to inspire a love for learning and instil confidence in students, preparing them for success in school and beyond.

As well as being a qualified English teacher, I am master's-educated (MBA) and worked for nearly a decade as a reporter and editor at the Financial Times.
My professional experience provides me with a strong advantage in tutoring and allows me to show students how to apply writing skills to real-world situations.

What is tailored tuition?

Different students have different requirements and my priority is getting to know each individual so that I can identify strengths and areas for development. I can draw on wide-ranging experience - including two years' as a specialist working with autism - to provide the best service and help students meet objectives both now and in the future.
